INGREDIENTS
  

  • Green bananas: 3
  • Coconut milk (fresh or canned): 2 cups
  • Water: 2 cups
  • Cinnamon: ¼ teaspoon or 1 stick
  • Nutmeg: ½ teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: ¼ teaspoon
  • Flour (optional): if needed
  • Sugar (optional): To sweeten
  • Condensed milk: To sweeten

INSTRUCTIONS
 

  • Wash the Bananas: Wash the bananas to remove any dirt or debris.
  • Peel the Bananas: Peel the bananas by cutting off both ends with a paring knife, then make a shallow slit along the length of the skin. Use your fingers to remove the peel.
  • Cut the Bananas: Cut each peeled banana into three equal pieces.
  • Blend the Bananas: In a blender, combine the banana pieces, coconut milk, and nutmeg. Blend until smooth.
  • Boil the Water: In a pot, add the water, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Add the Banana Mixture: Once the water has boiled, pour in the banana blend. Stir continuously to prevent lumps and ensure even cooking.
  • Cook the Porridge: As the porridge starts to thicken, reduce the heat to medium-low. Let it cook for about 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Add the Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Sweeten to Taste: Add condensed milk to sweeten the porridge to your liking.

NOTES

● You can sweeten the porridge to your liking using condensed milk or both condensed milk and sugar.
